The Context and the Challenge

In the wine industry, internal logistics are under tremendous stress, especially during peak periods such as the grape harvest. For the historic Giacomo Montresor Winery, the daily handling of pallets loaded with bottles, tanks, and heavy equipment required an elevation system that guaranteed two basic requirements: extreme strength and absolute stability.

The challenge was to implement a facility capable of handling bulky logistics volumes without the slightest wobble, thus protecting the most delicate products and avoiding any risk of load breakage or unbalancing during transfer between cellar levels.

The sheer power of the DL Series

To meet the rigorous needs of this industry, Updinamic designed and installed an industrial hoist from the DL Series, the solution par excellence dedicated to extreme loads.

With its imposing and robust multi-column design (available with 2 or 4 columns), the DL Series completely cancels out sway, providing extremely smooth and safe lifting. Designed to lift from 2000 up to 5000 kg, this plant proved to be the ideal partner to support the fast pace and heavy loads typical of wine production.

Uninterrupted Operation and Hygiene

The system installed at Montresor Winery was customized with specific features to maximize efficiency and comply with food regulations:

Forklift Transport with Operator (SPB): The real logistics revolution. The system is certified to carry goods with an operator on board and, thanks to its extraordinary capacity, allows for safe loading the entire forklift with its driver. This eliminates the downtime of loading and unloading at the floors, making workflow immediate.
Hygiene and Cleanliness (Stainless Steel): Operating in a food environment, it is critical to prevent any contamination. The plant has been equipped with finishes and coatings in Stainless steel AISI 304 or 316, materials that are corrosion-resistant, easily washable and perfect for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene required in the winery.

U-Cloud Predictive Control: Even the most tradition-bound wineries need to look at Industry 4.0. The system is set up for U-Cloud technology, which allows remote monitoring of work cycles and activation of predictive maintenance. A crucial advantage to avoid any sudden downtime during the delicate months of production.
